FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -

The vehicle belonging to a man found stabbed to death in Fayetteville was recovered Monday in Baltimore.

Police say Richard Jackson's 2010 Nissan Sentra was found abandoned in Baltimore, Md., on Monday, three days after Jackson's body was discovered decomposing in a Fayetteville home.

Jackson, 67, was found Friday in advanced stages of decomposition at a residence at 6444 Starbrook Drive. An autopsy revealed he was stabbed to death.

Police do not believe the stabbing was random.

Fayetteville detectives have been unable to notify Jackson's family of his death and are seeking the public's assistance in identifying any members of his immediate family. Jackson had not been seen since Feb. 6, according to police.

Anyone with information concerning this homicide investigation or the identity of the suspects is asked to contact Detective M. Hardin with the Fayetteville Police Department at (910) 433-1856 or Crimestoppers at (910) 483-TIPS.
