A wildlife photographer is recovering after he was accidentally shot by a hunter Sunday morning in Hillsborough County.

Clinton Galentine, 37, was photographing turkeys around 7:30 a.m. in the lower Hillsborough Wildlife Management area when a hunter mistook him for a deer. It happened less than a mile southeast of Morris Bridge Road, according to Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Spokesperson Baryl Martin.

Galentine suffered non life-threatening injuries when he was accidentally shot by Michael Trott, 43. Galentine was transported to Tampa General Hospital.

Trott and Galentine do not know each other.

There was limited visibility in the area at the time, according to Martin. WFLA News Channel 8 meteorologist Bryan Bennett said some parts of Tampa Bay saw fog early Sunday morning.

No charges will be filed in connection with the shooting.

Melanie and Jeffrey Cornwell should have been getting a tax break for years on part of the homestead property in Dunedin they call their "little piece of Heaven." But due to a mistake at the Pinellas Property Appraiser's Office, they won't see any rebates for previous taxes, just a break on future tax bills.
