HOLIDAY, FL (WFLA) -

Pasco County Sheriff's detectives say they are investigating Monday's shooting at a Holiday chiropractor's office as a self-defense case.

The shooting happened just before 11 a.m. at Dr. Lenny Linardos' chiropractic office, which is located at 1817 U.S. Highway 19.

Detectives say the victim in the shooting was Jaime Velez, age 33. He was taken to an area hospital with critical injuries, according to PSCO.

On Tuesday, sheriff's detectives said they believe that Jaime Velez and Dr. Lenny Linardos were involved in some type of domestic dispute and Velez arrived to the office armed with a gun.

A confrontation followed and Linardos, who was also armed, shot Velez, according to investigators.

Velez was in critical condition as of Tuesday afternoon.

No charges have been filed in connection with the shooting.
