Extreme motorcycle show debuts at Fla. State Fair

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL (WFLA) -

"It was amazing! Like at the end when they were all up in the air at the same time, I loved it!”

"Those guys are crazy!"

"Would you ever do that? Yes, No!"

Those were just a few of the comments from spectators who watched miracles in mid-air at the Florida State Fair, otherwise known as the NOCKAIR FMX Extreme Freestyle Motorcycle Show. This is the first year the daredevils have performed at the fair, in the aptly named Entertainment Hall. It's the brainchild of founder Wilson Nock and the group made Florida its first stop after returning from a tour which included stops in Japan, Taiwan and China.

"We've got an X-Games type show. We've got flying motorcycles, we've got good-looking girls, good-looking dudes, good-looking motorcycles, it's a good time,” said Nock.

One of the stars is 14-time motocross champ "Mad" Mike Jones, who was the first person to land a stunt with no hands. Jones is a gold medalist in the X-Games and a former freestyle world champion.

"I do some big whips in the air, landing no hands, landing sidesaddle, doing this and that, some tricks I invented, just doing some big air", said Jones, when asked about what his role in the show is.

Nock added a new twist for fairgoers: the debut of dance/athletics performer Nicholette Fornaseri. An 8th generation circus performer who has traveled the world, Fornaseri was a bit nervous before the show.

"Oh my gosh, I've done a lot of things in my life,” Fornaseri said. “I've traveled the world, but this is probably in my top three of very fun things I've done".

Nock said the group will play about 40-50 dates in 2014 and admits some of the stunts, which the motorcycles nearly scraped the ceiling, gives him a giant rush.

"The thrill is untouchable, the adrenaline rush is really crazy,” Nock said. "You're in the air, sometimes it's a little scary, but most of the time it's real fun.”
