FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -

Fayetteville police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying any immediate family members of a murder victim.

Police said the body of Richard Jackson, 67, was found in advanced stages of decomposition at a residence at 6444 Starbrook Drive Feb. 14 around 9:30 a.m.

Jackson had not been seen since Feb. 6., according to police.

An autopsy revealed Jackson was stabbed to death.

Fayetteville detectives have been unable to notify Jackson's family of his death and are seeking the public's assistance in identifying any members of his immediate family.
