TAMPA, FL (WFLA) - Detectives with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a bank robbery suspect.

An unknown man committed the crime just before 11 a.m. Friday morning at the TD Bank location at 10821 North Dale Mabry Highway in Tampa.

According to a HCSO report the suspect entered the bank, brandished a weapon and received an undisclosed amount of cash from an employee. The man then walked out the front door of the building and entered a blue Dodge Caravan with a New Jersey tag.

The van, which was stolen from a location in Tampa, was abandoned two blocks from the crime scene.

Investigators say a witness saw the suspect exit the van and jump into a small red vehicle – possibly a Nissan.

The suspect stands between 5’8’’ and 5’9’’ tall, has a thin/medium build and weighs approximately 165 to 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray, shoulder-length wig, a black Chicago White Sox baseball cap, dark round sunglasses, a red bandana, a gray hooded sweatshirt under a blue jacket, brown gloves and blue jeans.

He was armed with a silver/chrome semi-automatic handgun.
