Valley Police searching for armed robbery suspects

Valley Police are searching for two men who held a store owner at gunpoint and stole his briefcase. It happened this morning at approximately 7:00  at Chambley's on 20th Avenue.

Store owner George Chambley, told police he had just arrived to open the store when two men held him a gunpoint and forced him to the ground.

Chambley described the suspects as two black males, both approximately 6’0” tall and both appeared to be in their mid-20’s to early 30’s. They were both dressed in black. One was wearing a black ski mask and the other was wearing an orange toboggan type mask. Both were armed with black semiautomatic handguns. Mr. Chambley was not injured during the robbery.

Police set up a perimeter south of the business. A K-9 handler and a tracking dog were brought in from Lanett. The dog could not pick up a trail.

    An Amber Alert has been canceled after 2-year old Maliah Harris was found safe in Georgia. Her 7-month-old sibling, Alyssa, was found dead and Maliah disappeared from a Mississippi home which prompted authorities to issue the alert. The girls parents, Donald Boyd Harris,34, and Allison Studdard, 31, are now in custody.
