Traffic stop leads to 2 arrests

Auburn Police say a traffic stop led to the arrests of two people in connection with stolen property. On Tuesday, February 4, 2014 the Auburn Police Division arrested Marquavious W. Boler, 23 from Opelika on felony warrants for burglary third degree and theft of property first degree. Officers also arrested Max J. Cooper, 24 from Auburn on a felony warrant charging him with receiving stolen property second degree. 

The arrests stem from a burglary at a residence in the 9100 block of Lee Road 54. According to the victim, someone forced entry into the home and stole several items, including electronic devices valued at over $2,700.

According to a news release, Boler and Cooper were involved in a traffic stop by Opelika Police who discovered some of the stolen property inside their vehicle. Both were taken into custody and electronic items valued at approximately $1000 were recovered by police.  

Boler was transported to the Lee County Detention Facility, although a bond was set at  $6,000, he is being held due to a revocation of probation stemming from these arrests. Cooper was transported to the Lee County Detention Facility as well and is being held on a $3,000 bond.
