TAMPA, FL (WFLA) -
On the eve of National Signing Day, a pair of bay area high school football stars announced their college choices live on News Channel 8.
Dan Lucas was joined in studio by Plant City quarterback, Landon Galloway, who announced his decision to play football at Air Force.
Jefferson defensive back/wide receiver, Chavez Pownell, later revealed his decision to play football at Wyoming this fall.
Both players will leave the bay area to become rivals in the Mountain West Conference.
Last summer, Galloway made a verbal commitment to rising program, UCF, but changed his mind after Air Force entered the recruiting picture.
Pownell saw his recruiting come from mostly schools in the Missouri Valley Conference with Illinois State and North Dakota State leading the way.
But the Cowboys program offers the best chance to play quickly and contribute on defense.
National Signing Day is Wednesday, Feb. 5. It is a day dominated by national interest in college football but student athletes in many different sports turn their college commitments into official scholarships by signing a letter of intent.
