John David Przenkop pleads guilty to internet child sex crimes

   John David Przenkop of Columbus appeared in federal court Monday and pleaded guilty to transporting minors with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity. 

   The 47-year old admitted to enticing two Phenix City girls, ages 14 and 15, into coming to his home in Columbus and engaging in sexual activities.  The incident happened in February of 2010.  Przenkop reportedly made contact with the girls using the social media website MySpace.  Police found video recordings of the sexual encounters at Przenkop's residence.

   Przenkop faces a mandatory minimum sentence of ten years in prison to life and a maximum fine of $250,000 or both.  Sentencing is scheduled for April 29.  

   The case was investigated by the Columbus Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
