HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL (WFLA) -

Hillsborough County is targeting Old Sun City for the 2014 launch of its Fight the Blight campaign.

Dumpsters are set up at Sun City Heritage Park, at 3030 US Highway 41 South, in hopes residents will throw their discarded items there instead of illegally dumping them.

From Feb.3-13 the county Code Enforcement will also clean up vacant properties and inspect neighborhoods for violations.

Residents who live within the boundaries of Old Sun City can dump the following items for free from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with proof of address:

- Furniture

- Junk

- Electronics

- Metal

The following items will not be accepted:

- Hazardous chemicals

- Tree debris

- Commercial vehicle tires

During Hillsborough County's 2013 Fight the Blight campaign, more than 317 tons of discarded items were removed and nearly 1700 properties were inspected.
