Spanx, Lilly Pulitzer, Camicissima to open at Tampa's International Plaza

TAMPA, FL (WFLA) -

The Clearwater native who invented Spanx shapewear will soon have a store in Tampa Bay.

A Spanx store scheduled to open at International Plaza in April will be the company's first location in Tampa Bay. Company founder Sara Blakely invented Spanx when she did not have the right undergarment for a party.

Spanx will be one of six new businessed to open at International Plaza.

A Lilly Pulitzer store is scheduled to open in March. The company makes colorful resort wear that is popular with the preppy set.

A Boston Proper boutique is scheduled to open in June. The store offers high-end apparel and accessories.

Italian shirtmaker Camicissima will open its first Florida store at the International Plaza in June.

Life Time Athletic will open its first facility in the Tampa Bay area. The health and fitness destination has a full service LifeSpa and LifeCafe that will be open to the public.

The Chipotle restaurant chain will open its first mall location at International Plaza. Information about an opening date has not been released.

International Plaza is located at the southeastern edge of Tampa International Airport at 2223 N. Westshore Blvd.
