A Durham man was arrested and charged with murder in connection with a fatal shooting in November 2013 on Lakewood Avenue.

Durham police said Kenneth Tyvon Jones Jr., 23, of Durham, was around 3:45 p.m. Friday at 2201 Morehead Avenue by members of the U.S. Marshals Service Joint Fugitive Task Force.

He has been charged with murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, police said.

The shooting happened shortly after 3 p.m. in a parking lot at Lyon Park in November, police said. An adult male was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police identified the deceased as Quaysean Tymeek Malachi, 20, of High Point.

A second male is being treated for non-life threatening injuries, authorities said.

The suspect and victims knew each other, according to investigators, and the incident does not appear to have been random, police said.
