New Fla. bill to ban using phone while driving through school zone

Posted: Updated:
TALLAHASSEE, FL (WFLA) - A new bill was filed in Tallahassee this month that if signed into law, would ban drivers from using their cellphones while driving through a designated school zone.

State Rep. Irv Slosberg filed the bill. The proposed law would allow police officers to pull over drivers if they catch them texting, browsing Internet or talking on their phones.

Officers then could issue a ticket and fine the drivers.

You can read the bill here.
