PHILADELPHIA, PA (WFLA) -

Crews are now filling in holes created yesterday on the Interstate 75 University Parkway overpass.

Florida Department of Transportation spokesperson Robin Stublen says concrete fell on to I-75 when a 5-6,000 pound of equipment fell off a truck and slammed into the overpass. The impact punches some holes in the concrete, Stublen said. An FDOT inspection of the bridge shows that there is no structural damage and that all the metal rebar remains intact.

The accident forced FDOT to close most lanes on I-75 in the vicinity of University Parkway, causing an enormous traffic backup both north and south.

Overnight crews cleaned out the holes that were created as a result of the incident. Stublen says the bridge held up quite well and the holes are now being filled with concrete.
