1 stabbed at Fayetteville home

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -

Fayetteville Police are investigating a stabbing Sunday afternoon at a home on Berkshire Road.

Officers were dispatched to 1217 Berkshire Rd. Sunday around 12:31 p.m. in reference to a stabbing.

When they arrived, they found 28-year-old Brandon Pomeroy had been stabbed, and he was subsequently transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for treatment of a non-life threatening injury.

Police say the stabbing occurred after Pomeroy confronted 28-year-old Ryan Syler, who lives at the home, and an altercation ensued.

Pomeroy assaulted Syler and during the confrontation, Pomeroy was stabbed in the side, police said.

Pomeroy was arrested and charged with simple assault. No charges have been filed against Syler.
