Camp Lejeune Marine faces statutory rape charges

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. - A Camp Lejeune Marine is charged with indecent liberties with a child.

The Jacksonville Police Department says Sgt. Brian Callendar was arrested Friday, January 24, without incident. Sgt. Callendar has been charged with indecent liberties with a child, statutory sexual offense on a child, statutory rape, crime against nature, statutory sexual offense on a child and 3 counts of child abuse.

Jacksonville Police say Naval Criminal Investigative Services provided assistance with the investigation. It was an active and open investigation.

Callendar is being held under a $430,000 bond at the Onslow County Detention Center.
