Sculptors leave a bronze rabbit in Nelson Mandela’s ear

Posted: Updated:
PRETORIA, South Africa - The sculptors behind South Africa's new Nelson Mandela statue left an unusual signature, a bronze rabbit in his ear.

The artists say they were rushed by the government to finish the 30-foot statue and were not permitted to put their names on it.

So, they put a rabbit, which they say can only be seen through binoculars.

The government has ordered the rabbit removed from the statue which stands in front of the main government building in Pretoria, South Africa.
