Multiple fundraisers to benefit family of theater shooting victim

Friends, businesses and other members of the community are reaching out to help the family of Chad Oulson, who was shot and killed inside a Wesley Chapel theater after an argument about texting.

Oulson, 43, left behind a wife, Nicole, and 22-month-old daughter, Alexis.

A Facebook page called the "Chad Oulson Family Fund" has been created so members of the community can donate to help Nicole and Alexis.

Multiple fundraisers have also been organized to benefit the Oulson family-

  • Jan. 25: East Bay Raceway Park is sponsoring a motocross day in honor of Chad Oulson. Chad was a frequent rider there. Proceeds from gate fees and ride fees will be donated. East Bay Raceway Park is located at 6311 Burts Rd., Tampa (813) 677-7223.
  • Jan. 26: Sky Powersports is doing a car wash from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. All proceeds will go to the family. Sky Powersports is located at 8822 U.S. 19 in Port Richey, (727) 842-6624.
  • Feb 3: The Texas Roadhouse restaurant in Wesley Chapel will donate a percentage of sales from 5 pm to closing. Texas Roadhouse is located at 26409 Silver Maple Parkway, (813) 907-8188
  • Feb 8: World of Beers in Land o Lakes is doing a concert and donating a percentage of the proceeds to the Family. World of Beers is located at  2081 Collier Parkway, Land O' Lakes, (813) 948-9400.
  • Feb 9: Memorial Ride with 400+ riders. Ride begins at Sky Powersports. Sky Powersports is located at 8822 U.S. 19 in Port Richey, (727) 842-6624.
