2 shot, killed in Fayetteville apartment

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -

Two people were shot and killed Monday night in a Fayetteville apartment.

Officers were dispatched to 52 Cambridge Arms in Fayetteville Monday around 8:25 p.m. in response to a shooting.

When they arrived, they found two victims that had sustained gunshot wounds. They were both transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where they later died.

Fayetteville Police say the victims were shot when they answered a knock on their door and were met by an unidentified suspect.

Police say a "discussion ensued" between the suspect and the victims that ended with the victims being shot.

The names of the victims are being withheld pending next-of-kin notification.

Anyone with information concerning the shooting is asked to call detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department at (910) 433-1856 or Crimestoppers at (910) 483-8477.
