Pinellas deputies looking for fire starting woman

Posted: Updated:
HERNANDO COUNTY, FL (WFLA) -
Pinellas County Sheriff's Deputies are looking for a woman that doused her ex-boyfriend with lighter fluid and then lit a fire in his Lealman apartment on Friday afternoon.

Detectives say 36-year-old Kamekia Russell sprayed Oscar Mitchell, 36, with lighter fluid after they had an argument over money.

The incident happened at Mitchell’s apartment at the Lakeside Terraces Apartment Complex at 4200 62 Ave. North.

Investigators say the pair met at a convenience store near Mitchell's apartment. Deputies say Mitchell was said to have borrowed money from Russell and when Russell demanded the money be repaid Mitchell left the store and headed back to his apartment. Russell reportedly followed Mitchell back to his apartment.

Officials say once they got in the apartment Russell sprayed Mitchell with lighter fluid. Mitchell then ran out of the apartment while Russell remained in the apartment. Detectives believe Mitchell then lit a curtain on fire. A small sofa cushion also caught fire.

Deputies say Mitchell saw Russell leave the apartment and then ran back inside to put out the fire.
