RALEIGH, N.C. -

A day after President Barack Obama visits N.C. State University, the chancellors of N.C. State and UNC will visit the president.

The president and first lady Michelle Obama will host a summit at the White House Thursday on expanding college opportunities. College and university presidents, and leaders from nonprofits, foundations, state governments and businesses across the country are expected to attend.

Among those in attendance will be N.C. State Chancellor Randy Woodson and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Chancellor Carol Folt.

More than 100 college and university presidents are expected to attend the summit, during which they will promise to enroll more low-income students and ensure that they graduate, the Washington Post reports.
