PASCO COUNTY, FL (WFLA) -

One day after a deadly shooting inside a Wesley Chapel movie theater, Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco reached out to the community on Facebook to thank everyone for their support during the tragedy.

"The loss of life in yesterday's movie theater shooting is tragic and our thoughts and prayers go out to the victim's family," wrote Nocco on the Pasco Sheriff's Office Facebook page.

"I want to thank our community for their prayers and support of the Pasco Sheriff's Office. The initial calls over our radios as this movie shooting incident was unfolding made this incident sound as if it was much larger, with an ongoing active shooter, and with multiple victims. When we arrived on scene it was very chaotic and the deputies did an outstanding job bringing order and safety to our citizens," he added.

"Our Pasco Sheriff's Office members did what they are trained to do in an active shooter situation. I thank all our members for their bravery when professionalism."
