WESLEY CHAPEL, FL (WFLA) - The Cobb Grove 16 Theater in Wesley Chapel was closed Tuesday morning after a man shot and killed another man over a texting argument Monday, Pasco deputies said.

The suspect, a retired Tampa Police officer Curtis Reeves, 71, shot and killed Chad Oulson, 43, after asking him to stop texting, according to Pasco County Sheriff's deputies.

On Tuesday, the theater's website had been changed to a black screen with a message that said:

"Attention: Cobb Grove 16 is temporarily closed. We will reopen for business on Wednesday, Jan. 15. Guests with pre-purchased tickets will be issued alternative movie passes or a refund with ticket purchase confirmation at the box office once opened. Thank you, Cobb Theaters Management"

Cobb Theater also released the following statement Tuesday:

“We are deeply saddened by the events that occurred on Monday, and our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families. The theatre is currently closed, and we are actively working with the sheriff’s office on this investigation. This was an isolated altercation between two guests that escalated unexpectedly. The safety, security and comfort of our guests and team members are always our top priorities, and we are truly heartbroken by this incident. -Cobb Theatres"
