SARASOTA COUNTY, FL (WFLA) - The owner of a Sarasota pet sitting company is facing criminal charges after deputies say she stole from two of her clients.

Investigators say Jill Huber, 42, runs Pro Pet Sitter Services on Doud Street.  In September, Rheanna Kirkpatrick offered Huber a place to stay rent-free in exchange for dog-sitting.  Huber agreed, and moved in to the home while Kirkpatrick was out of town.

Deputies say on two separate occasions, Huber took pieces of Kirkpatrick's jewelry to Value Pawn on Bee Ridge Road.  The estimated value of the stolen jewelry was $12,300.

Huber stayed at the home until Kirkpatrick's husband returned in October.  On December 2nd, Huber was arrested for stealing and pawning jewelry from a different client.

On December 17th, Kirkpatrick reported the theft of the jewelry, in addition to electronics and cash, from her home.  A search of the pawn database turned up the stolen jewelry, and thumbprints verified that the person who pawned the items was Jill Huber.

Huber is facing two counts of false verification of ownership to a pawnbroker, and dealing in stolen property.
