TVA and JCPB Lift Appeal to Reduce Usage

The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and Johnson City Power Board (JCPB) have
lifted their appeal to customers to reduce non-essential electricity usage. TVA alerted
JCPB that they have retracted to step 10 of their Emergency Load Curtailment Program
(ELCP). Customers may again use electric appliances at their discretion.
JCPB will continue to employ their voltage reduction plan; however, its larger
commercial and industrial customers are being notified that they may resume normal
operations.
Thank you for your cooperation and help to reducing demand on our electrical
infrastructure and resources during this morning’s call to action.
The JCPB serves over 76,000 customers within Washington, Sullivan, Carter and Greene
counties in Northeast TN. The JCPB is a not-for-profit, public power provider and is the
tenth largest of the TVA’s 155 electricity distributors. The JCPB also offers a wide
variety of energy services and programs to its residential and commercial customers.
