What Bucs new coach brings to the table

TAMPA, FL (WFLA) -

On Monday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will introduce the 10th head coach in franchise history, Lovie Smith.

The one time Bucs assistant coach returns to the bay area after stints in St. Louis as a defensive coordinator and Chicago as a head coach.

On Sunday, News Channel 8’s Dan Lucas was joined in studio by Tampa Tribune Bucs beat writer, Roy Cummings.

The most pressing topic for the new Bucs coach: what to do about a struggling offense that finished dead last in the NFL in 2013?

Smith has already hired a new offensive coordinator, Jeff Tedford, recently the head coach at the University of California.

While Tedford revamped the Cal football program and help guide a budding star in quarterback Aaron Rodgers, he brings no NFL experience to a pressure packed situation that includes rookie quarterback Mike Glennon as well as an aging (and expensive) offensive line.
