PINELLAS PARK, FL (WFLA) - Pinellas Park Police say a St. Petersburg man hid on top of a freezer inside a business and waited for the business to close, then stole the cash register.

Jett Jones, 29, is charged with armed robbery and armed burglary.

Investigators say around 7 p.m. on Dec. 26, Jones entered the Edible Arrangements at 7060 U.S. 19 through rear door then hid on top of a freezer.

When the business closed, Jones climbed down from the freezer and cut the power cord to the cash register, but was interrupted by an employee.

Investigators say Jones then ran out the front door with the cash register. Store employees and mall workers chased him. He was eventually found by a Pinellas Park Police Dept. K9 team and was arrested.
