A Pasco Sheriff's Office K-9 unit was involved in a crash on Thursday night.

Investigators say the deputy was helping with an unrelated rollover accident in the area of Interstate 75 southbound and mile marker 284 when his vehicle was hit.

The deputy and K-9 were unhurt.

The rollover crash was just one of several that took place within a mile of each other.  One crash, involving a pickup truck and a semi, resulted in a fatality.  Another crash less than a mile away involved at least six cars.

Interstate 75 southbound is shut down, and traffic is backed up beyond State Road 52.  Traffic is being diverted onto State Road 52.

No one can say precisely when the mountainside collapsing into this Wyoming resort town will give way. But it appears increasingly likely that when it does, it's going to take a piece of Jackson with it.
