Ringling Circus includes human chandelier, motorcycle globe

Posted: Updated:
TAMPA, FL (WFLA) - The circus is in town and the brains behind the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey's Circus want to take you back to the days of old. The theme this year is "Legends."

"We're bringing the legends of your dreams to life," Rudy Uresti, a clown in the show, said. "Things like Pegasus, Woolly Mammoth, and a Unicorn are all coming together in one show. We're also bringing all of the elements of Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water."

In addition to the Legends acts, the cast also performs the traditional circus acts like juggling.

"There's always a certain element people expect and this year by far we fulfill that," Uresti said.

"However, we do have world-record-setting eight motorcycles in the globe of steel. We also have a one of a kind hair hanging act we call human chandelier. That's eight girls suspended over our arena floor only by their hair."

Aside from those acts, you'll get the classic clowns, that aren't so classic.

"We're the legends of laughter," Uresti said. "The cool thing about our alley is that Ringling is known for America style clowning but we have people from France, Peru, Hungary, Japan, Mexico, and Cuba."

The shows are at the Tampa Bay Times Forum and run through Sunday. Tickets start at 16 dollars.
