SARASOTA COUNTY, FL - A 20-month-old Sarasota boy was airlifted to a Tampa hospital Monday morning after he fell from a two-story window.

It happened at the boy's home, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office.

The window was open and the boy pushed on the screen and fell 20 feet to the ground.

"The child was talking and conscious. However, due to the height of the fall, the fire department decided to fly the child," said Lt. David Scott about the decision to fly the boy to a Tampa-area hospital.

The name of the child and information about his condition have not been released.

Lt. Scott says child neglect charges are not expected.
