The Hottest Jobs in 2014 will be...

Posted: Updated:
TAMPA, FL (WFLA) - Over the past couple of years, the United States has been slowly recovering from the recession. As we approach the new year, millions of people are still on the hunt for a new job.

In Florida, the unemployment rate currently stands at 6.4 percent. That's actually lower than the national average.

Job creation has been a driving force for Governor Rick Scott's administration. He recently announced a plan to bring an Amazon warehouse to Tampa Bay, bringing in 3,000 jobs.

But, CareerBuilder says there are some other occupations on the rise. The hottest jobs of 2014 run the gamut, from petroleum engineers to event planners to tech jobs.

Walter Conner with Kforce Staffing and solutions said, "[Tech jobs are] becoming the driving force of revenue behind companies that aren't even technology based."

CareerBuilder has released its list of Top Jobs for 2014. The list was based on occupations that grew 7 percent or more from 2010 to 2013 and are projected to increase in 2014.

Tech careers dominate this list of jobs that all pay $22 an hour or more.
