Hillsborough mom killed in car crash

Posted: Updated:
HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL (WFLA) - A Hillsborough mother with two children in her car died in a crash on Tuesday afternoon.

Hillsborough deputies say it happened around 1:00 p.m. on Symmes Road.  Stephanie Camille Drury, of Apollo Beach, drove her Oldsmobile over the double yellow line and into the path of oncoming traffic.  Investigators say a dump truck driven by Jame Artice McCarty hit Drury's car.  The dump truck was pulling a trailer.

Drury was pronounced dead at the scene.  Two children, ages 3 years and 5 days, had no visible injuries, but were taken to Tampa General Hospital for observation.

McCarty was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
