TAMPA, FL (WFLA) - A handful of Bay area kids – and kids at heart - built a snowman and had snowball fights Saturday morning during a Winter Wonderland event in Tampa.

The festivities were the result of a national contest put on by McDonald’s McCafe involving cities in 10 warm weather climates across the country.

Kids lined up more than an hour before the ‘Winter Wonderland,’ opened at 1 p.m. on the Tampa Riverwalk at the Convention Center.

Those who attended the event on Saturday also made snow angels and took part in other fun-filled winter-related activities.

A good time was had by all even though the snow didn’t last long on a balmy Tampa Bay day.
