Manatee County man injured by hit-and-run driver

SARASOTA COUNTY, FL (WFLA) -

Investigators with the Florida Highway Patrol are asking for the public’s assistance in tracking down a hit and run driver who seriously injured a Parrish man Friday night.

Christopher T. Vain was transported to Blake Medical Center in Bradenton. His current condition is not known.

According to a FHP report the incident occurred just after 9 p.m. near the intersection of Lockwood Ridge Rd. and 40th St. in Sarasota. The unidentified vehicle struck Vain, 37, as he was walking in the outside northbound lane of Lockwood Ridge.

The injured man was propelled onto the hood of the car and eventually over the roof and onto the pavement. The vehicle did not stop and was last seen heading north.

The make, model, color and tag number of the vehicle are not available at this time. Investigators wish to speak with anyone who may have witnessed this incident.
