Safety Harbor girls softball team headed to national championship

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL - A group of talented Safety Harbor girls are among an elite group of young athletes. They are the second Pinellas County team to ever qualify for a national championship in their division.

The Safety Harbor Stone Crabs won a spot in the Amateur Softball Association national championship when they beat the Florida Bat Busters Elite squad from the Miami area, 5 to 3.

The Stone Crabs will play in the national championship next August in Bloomington, Indiana.

The girls, who play in the 12-and-under division, finished the season with a record of 82-37-2.

Members of the Stone Crabs include Hannah Galloway, Alanah Rivera, Maddie Houtz, Jaelyn Flynn, Jessi Bryson, Ally Kifer, Nicole Tikriti, Mackenzie Smith, Taylor Norwood, and Mariah Galhouse. The Stone Crabs are coached by Gary Kifer, John Galloway, Bill Hoopes, and Billy Norwood.
