Deadly Tampa accidents close 2 busy roads

Deadly accidents on two busy Tampa roads caused delays for drivers Friday morning.

Tampa Police officers investigated a deadly crash at E. Sligh Avenue and Interstate 275. The crash involved one car and happened around 4 a.m. As a result of the crash, E. Sligh Avenue was closed from N. Nebraska Avenue to E. Central Avenue along with the southbound I-275 exit ramp at E. Sligh Avenue. The name of the person killed in the crash has not been released.

Tampa Police are also investigating a deadly pedestrian accident on Dale Mabry at Walnut Street. According to investigators, the victim was leaving the Mons Venus and crossing Dale Mabry, south of Cherry Street. The driver of a tanker truck did not see the man crossing the street and hit him. No criminal charges are expected. The southbound lanes of Dale Mabry were closed from Columbus to Spruce.
