St. Petersburg residents won't miss the inverted pyramid Pier.

At least that's what a survey posted on the city website suggests. The phone survey consisted of 1,000 St. Petersburg residents.

Only 25 percent of those asked were in favor of saving the pier and renovating the structure.

Residents ranked air conditioning at the top of the list of priorities. They're also looking for fine dining, an iconic structure, and sweeping views.

Although the majority of residents aren't attached to the inverted pyramid design, they still want a pier.

Many expressed concern over the cost. About half of the St. Petersburg residents have visited the pier at least twice in the last year.
