TAMPA, FL (WFLA) - Friends and family of a murdered Brandon mother are asking the public to help find her husband, who police think may have been involved with her murder.

"She gave everybody so many chances, people that, obviously, she shouldn't have given chances to," said Scott Hall as he described his daughter, Ashley Atherley, a mother of two from Brandon, who was brutally murdered in California about two weeks ago.

Police there have a warrant for the arrest of Ashley's husband Edly Atherley in connection with her death.

Friends and family are asking the public to help find him.

"We need justice for our daughter," Hall said, "He took everything away from her, he took everything away from us."

Ashley's mother Lucia Robles described her daughter as a loving person who had goals, before she went with Edly to California.

"Her aspiration was to be a school teacher and she was on her way there," Robles said.

Hall says he never liked Edly from the moment he met him, "Both of us couldn't be together because you couldn't be around someone like that that treated your daughter like that."

Ashley's parents told us that Edly's family has been cooperating with authorities in their investigation, but the man does have plenty of connections, they tell us, between Tampa and California, even overseas.

"We know that he has connections in Charlotte County," Robles explained, "we know that he has connections here of course, we understand that his family has property and family in Belize, I know he has a friend in Texas."

According to Hall, Edly has been off the grid for about a week, he was last spotted in Los Angeles attempting to buy a train ticket.

If you have information about Edly Atherley's whereabouts, call your local police immediately.
