PASCO COUNTY, FL (WFLA) - The Pasco County Sheriff's Office is investigating the source of an apparent stray bullet that slightly injured a Pasco driver on State Route 54 Thursday afternoon.

Investigators say the stray bullet entered the open window of a vehicle driven by a 62-year-old man while he was driving near Bruce Lane. The bullet grazed the man's eye, causing a superficial wound. The bullet then hit the passenger side window.

The man's 13-year-old granddaughter was in the vehicle. The bullet passed near her head, but she was not injured, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies searched the area, but say they have not found the person responsible.

Investigators think the bullet may have come from a location a long distance away.
