Three Phenix City men arrested on counterfeit charges

   Phenix City police have arrested three residents on counterfeit currency charges.  Twenty-one year old Johnquez Barnes, 26-year old Marquez Ellison and 22-year old Azavria Hayes all face charges of possessing a forged instrument.  Police executed a search warrant at their residence in the Central Highlands Apartments on 22nd Avenue.  Officers recovered counterfeit U.S. currency.  The suspects are accused of presenting counterfeit bills at several businesses throughout Phenix City.

    Opelika police are searching for aman who made purchases using counterfeit money.On March 22, the suspect made two separate purchases at Target using two $100 counterfeit bills. Loss prevention officers reported the man.He is described as a black male, about 5'8" weighing around 180 pounds.Anyone who has any information about this case is asked to call the Opelika Police Department Investigative Services Division at (334) 705-5220 or the Secret Witness Hotline at (334) 745-8665.
