JOHNSON CITY, TN -

The Friends of Olde Dowtowne, organizers of the annual Christmas event, are very eager to reveal a new route this year!

The 2013 Johnson City Christmas Parade will take place on Saturday December 7th at 4 PM.

The parade will stage on E. State of Franklin utilizing the former Big Burley Warehouse lot for overflow, the parade route will include turns onto Colonial Way, backwards down E. Main Street, across Buffalo Street and down W. Walnut Street.

Earlier this year, the Friends Board was approached by East Tennessee State University concerning a creating a potential parade route that might end at or near the campus.

The Friends Board felt this was a wonderful way to bring the parade route down W. Walnut Street and include even more of the downtown businesses in the annual holiday event as well as working with ETSU to create an extended event on their campus.

The above information was provided by The Friends of Olde Downtowne.
