State sets deadline for vendor to fix problematic unemployment system

The new CONNECT system has stumbled since it launched on Oct. 15, prompting complaints from unemployed Floridians who haven't received anticipated benefits and have had technical trouble with the website.

The original date for the system to be working as it should was Nov. 15.

As a result of the agreement to extend the deadline, the state is expected to get $1.5 million in savings from contractor Deloitte.
