CLEARWATER, FL (WFLA) - The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office and Clearwater Police Department will be working to keep you safe on Black Friday and on Saturday as well.

The agencies will set up a special "SkyWatch Tower" in the parking lot of the Countryside Mall on these days.

The tower provides a 360-degree view from the top of the two-story high enclosed platform. The tower has a camera which can be operated by remote and also has flood lights, directional lights, a weather station and lightning detector.

Police officers and sheriff's deputies will be inside the tower, monitoring the parking lot with the hope of deterring vehicle burglaries.

The agencies would also like to remind shoppers to lock their car doors.
