Lakeland man arrested after threatening reporters

LAKELAND, FL (WFLA) - A Lakeland man is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after Polk deputies say he threatened the media with a metal cane.

Two reporters were providing coverage of the shooting death of a two-year-old boy on Tuesday night when Mark Jerome Bonar verbally confronted them.

They moved their vehicle, but deputies say Bonar charged out of his home with a metal cane, shouting profanities and threats.

Bonar was booked into the Polk County Jail.  He will have a first appearance Thursday morning.
