MANATEE COUNTY, FL (WFLA) - Former Manatee High assistant Football coach Rod Frazier could appear in eight separate trials to fight claims made against him.

Frazier faces misdemeanor charges for allegedly groping students and teachers.  He is a former assistant football coach and parent liaison.

The state had wanted all the charges bundled together but now a judge has ordered Frazier to be tried in eight separate court cases.  Frazier faces a total of ten misdemeanor charges. That includes seven counts of battery and three counts of interference with the attendance of a school pupil.

Prosecutors say from 2006 to 2012, Frazier allegedly groped a number of students and teachers.  As the investigation continued, he was charged and he later resigned.

The state combined the charges together because of Frazier's connection to the victims at the school.  The defense argued against that, and on Tuesday a judge made a decision to have eight different trials.

News Channel 8 reached out to Frazier's attorney for comment, but he has not responded at this time.

It's also worth noting that four other school administrators face felony charges for failure to report child abuse.

A school district internal investigation showed they did not do enough to investigate these claims made against Frazier.
