Daytime Recipes-Turkey & Dressing

Stuffing Muffins  and Roast Apple Turkey by Kristina Rice

The way I make our family stuffing isn't fancy it's simple. Turning store bought stuffing cubes into a magnificent Lavender Herb Stuffing. 

1 medium onion diced small 

5 sticks celery ( peel one swipe with a peeler on back of celery) this removes the strings in celery. ) dice med 1/4" 

1 garlic Clove minced 

1/4 tsp onion powder 

1/4 tsp celery salt 

1 tbsp lavender leaves (remove stems)

3/4 cup chopped flat leaf parsley

1 tbsp oil 

1 tbsp butter 

8 cups dried stuffing cubes. 

2 cups chicken or veggie broth. 

Medium Heat - medium sautĂ© pan 

In pan add Oil first then add butter 

When butter is melted add all ingredients except bread and water 

Continue to stir mixture until well combined. Turn heat to down to medium low and continue to cook and stir for 2-3 minutes. 

Take off heat stir and cover for 5 minutes 

In a separate large bowl

Add bread cubes, and half the water stir 

Add lavender onion mixture - stir 

Add remaining water 

When completely  mixed put into mini bundt pans or large muffin pans 

Make whole in center of each

Bake 350 degrees for 30 minutes

Roast Apple Turkey 

Soak turkey in Apple cider overnight before roasting 

Dry turkey 

Rub with some oil 

Salt and pepper inside and out 

Put one apple inside cavity and 

Roast according to size turkey
