Baby and puppy sleeping together goes viral

Posted: Updated:

A California mother's pictures of her young son napping with the family puppy have gone viral.

"I am completely flabbergasted, it's beyond anything that I have ever dreamed," said Jessica Shyba.

She was speaking softly at her front door, because she didn't want to disrupt what has become a daily ritual that people around the world are watching.

Millions of people have seen photos of her son Bo cuddling with the family puppy Theo after Jessica started posting the pictures on her blog.  Jessica says Theo would whine after the family adopted him from the Santa Cruz SPCA earlier this month.  She found that putting him with Bo comforted both of them.

The pictures have gone viral, and the story has been on national television.  Shyba believes it is because what she's presenting is so different from what people are used to seeing on the news.

"I think there's so much bad news in the world all the time; everyday that's all we see," Shyba said.

This mom says she was so taken by the peacefulness and sweetness between the 23-month-old Bo and the puppy he calls "Bee-bo" that she had to share it.

"It's sweet and it's innocent and it's lovely and I think people appreciate it... and I appreciate it," said Shyba.
