5th Annual Kindness Day on Friday Dec.13th

Tampa, Fla. – WFLA News Channel 8, Circle K and The Tampa Tribune are holding the fifth annual Kindness Day on Friday, Dec. 13, at The News Center located at 200 S. Parker St. in Tampa.

Donations for the Tampa area charities, which include Feeding America Tampa Bay, One Blood, Toys for Tots and the Teddy Bear Roundup, will start at 9 a.m. on Friday and go until 7 p.m. FLZ 93.3 is the official radio partner for the second year in a row.

“As Kindness 2013 gears up, we are reminded of the needs of our own neighbors and fellow members of the community,” said David Morgan, Circle K Florida Divisional Vice President. “Circle K Florida is honored to be a part of Kindness Day with News Channel 8 and The Tampa Tribune and enjoy the opportunity to engage our employees and our customers in support of some great local causes as the ones involved here.”

Donations can be dropped off via a fast and easy drive-through system. The drop-off location will be in the parking lot across from The News Center. One Blood’s blood mobile also will be on hand for blood donations as part of the 8 On Your Side Holiday Blood Drive scheduled for later in the month. 

Donors will receive the following for their acts of kindness, while supplies last:

·         ONE FREE ticket to the Florida Strawberry Festival

·         TWO FREE tickets to the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus

·         ONE FREE meal card to EVOS

·         ONE FREE Peppermint Chocolate Chip milkshake from Chick-fil-A®

·         Buy One, GET ONE FREE voucher to Lowry Park’s Zoo Wild Wonderland

·         MEET members of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

·         MEET the Strawberry Festival Queen

·         MEET Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus clowns and more!

WFLA General Manager Brad Moses said, “We’re happy to have the opportunity to bring together four charities this holiday season and are dedicated to helping our community and making the holiday season special for folks who need some help.”

Kindness Day is sponsored by Circle K and its locations throughout the Tampa Bay area are offering a FREE cup of coffee on Dec. 7 for every $2 donation toward “kindness.”

Needed items are: new teddy bears, canned and nonperishable foods, new unwrapped toys and willing blood donors.
