HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL (WFLA) -

Deputies are hoping surveillance video helps them track down a man who robbed a 7-11 at knife point.

It happened Monday just before 5:00 a.m. at the 7-11 on 56th Street North.  The video shows a man holding a knife, wearing a black hoodie, with blue or purple gloves, and a bandana covering his face.  The man tells the male clerk not to "be a hero", and that he is not going to hurt him.

A female clerk who was also inside was able to escape, while the male clerk stumbled to the ground.  The suspect grabbed the clerk by the collar and ordered him to open the cash register.  The suspect grabbed the cash, and a carton of cigarettes, and ran away.

Investigators are also looking for a car in connection with this crime.  It may be a red late 1980's 4-door Dodge Intrepid with tinted windows.

Anyone with any information on the suspect is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at 247-8200.

You can also call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477), report anonymously online at www.crimestopperstb.com or text "CSTB plus your tip" to C-R-I-M-E-S (274637).  You may be eligible for a cash reward.
